Buildables was founded in 2009 and is today one of Singapore’s leading building solutions providers for the non-structural building materials sector. It has been in the business of plaster and ceiling boards since 1991 through its parent company Alltrust International Pte Ltd.
Christine Ooi, the Managing Director, identified that Singapore’s construction industry would eventually need to evolve from traditional masonry building methods to environmentally cleaner, lighter & faster building systems that would provide a higher level of finish.
Buildables isn’t a commodity mover, it is a solutions provider as well, says Christine. “It is founded on the principle that there is always a better solution waiting to be specified. And the key to making those benefits available to the wider market are a core of motivated, well-trained people who understand the needs and benefits that our technology solutions bring.”
We have been assisting the authorities, developers, builders and specifiers to meet industry standards for the last decade. This leads to higher safety standards, savings in costs, better planned and more streamlined project management through well thought out system solutions.
Buildables wants its key people to be technically competent innovators who are able to advise clients and to take them to the next level.
However, resistance is to be expected from an Industry that is traditionally price sensitive, but “we want to change the way people look at the products and at us. We want to convince them that we have better solutions that benefit them. In short, we enable them with our solutions,” said Christine.

Patrick Tan is General Manager of Buildables Pte Ltd. He heads Buildables operations in Singapore, and is responsible for daily operations, administration, customer service and procurement.
In 1996, Patrick embarked on his career in the telecommunications value-added services industry as a Sales Manager with Xpedite Inc, an established Multi-National Company listed on the NASDAQ. There, he progressed over the years fulfilling each undertaking to his fullest capacity before leaving Xpedite Inc in 2001 to explore other opportunities.
Following which, Patrick served as Sales Director (South East Asia) at EasyLink Services Corporation, a renowned establishment listed on the NASDAQ. There, he focused on sales and marketing, support and administration, and customer service throughout the Southeast Asia Region. He gained expertise in the connection of enterprises with their suppliers, distributors, retailers and consumers through electronic business solutions.
In 2004, Patrick then assumed the title of Vice-President at Venali Inc, a US privately held Multi-National Company where he successfully accomplished the mission to set up Venali Asia Pacific.
Patrick also serves as Executive Director responsible to set up regional head office REDtone Technology Pte Ltd in Singapore offering international roaming service. REDtone International Berhad headquarter in Malaysia, A subsidiary of Berjaya Corporation Bhd, REDtone was listed on Bursa Malaysia in 2004.
Throughout his twenty-year career, Patrick has risen through the ranks and amassed vast experience in the management of large-scale businesses and coordination of international operations. His extensive experience in business execution and planning has helped him hone a valuable entrepreneurial spirit. As the present General Manager of Buildables, Patrick is well positioned to take the company to greater heights.
